Our Main Areas
In the area of Biotechnology our research is mainly focused towards immunogenics and its optimal application to the effective diagnosis of biochemical imbalances caused by food intolerances and allergies . Furthermore we carry out primary screening protocols on active marine biomolecules to verify their therapeutical properties and possible application in the health sector.

In the areas of Clinical Genetics and Genomics our interest is mainly focused towards the mechanics of complex disorders. Emphasizing on the role played by pharmacogenomics and nutrigenomics in their effective treatment. Insofar our pharmacogenomic research has been based on the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders with special attention placed on the prevention of sporadic dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.

In the area of active biomolecules research, we concentrate our technical resources in the search for marine molecules extracted via non-denaturing biotransformation processes. Through the extensive marine bioprospecting of the Galician waters, we have been able to patent Nutraceuticals that maintain the nutritional natural balance of their marine raw material hence optimizing human and animal diets. As a step forward we are currently concentrating our research in the development of functional foods with added nutraceutical components.

Timeline
Ebiotec began operating in 2001 with a solid philosophy to allocate 15-20% of our yearly turn-over to in-house R & D projects. In 2003, ebiotec began the sales and commercialization of our products and services in the national sector. To this date our products are distributed trough the Spanish pharmacy outlet network; servicing more than 3000 outlets and 1500 health professionals.

International expansion
With headquarters in La Coruña, Spain , ebiotec has offices in Madrid, Prague(Czech republic) , London ( U.K.), Osaka (Japan), Mexico city ( Mexico) & Muscat (Oman). With a target to enter 10 countries in the next 3 years, ebiotec has already began its international expansion to key northern European countries and plans to enter the North American markets in the next 2 years.
